Healing Golden Latte


I'll admit that the winter season is not my favorite (I'm a summer kind of gal) but with some warm cozy drinks in hand, it becomes easy to enjoy it! Lately I've been loving using curcumin to make warm dishes. Something about the cold just draws me to it, which is a good thing considering just how many health benefits it contains. Especially when I feel a cold coming on, curcumin is my go-to super booster. It's anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and helps to improve digestion. Some research even says it acts as an anti-depressant so it can be the perfect thing for the winter blues.

This Healing Golden Latte is one of the drinks I had recently catered for an Christmas party and was so popular that I wanted to share the recipe so you can all make it at home. It's quickly turned into my personal obsession!


The Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cup almond milk

- 1/2 cup coconut milk

- 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

- 1 inch fresh ginger peeled

- 1 1/2 heaping tsp curcuma 

- 1 tsp cinnamon

- 1/2 tsp cardamon

- pinch of black pepper

- pinch of vanilla

- 2 to 3 dates pitted or 3 tbsp rice malt syrup (use 1 tsp stevia or monkfruit sweetener for sugar-free)


Recipe Tip
Cover dates in water and soak overnight (or at least for 3 hours). They will blend easily and make the latte more thick this way! You can also add the water as it will be sweet from the soaking.


The How

[1.] Add all ingredients into a blender. Blend on high speed until everything is mixed in well.

[2.] Pour mixture into a pot and set on medium-high heat. 

[3.] Stir with a whisk until warm. Do not let it come to a boil.

[4.] Pour into a mug, get cozy in a blanket and enjoy!
